Dental Payment Calculator
Estimate a dental monthly payment before another financing application. Use the result to decide whether the quote needs staging, a down payment, a shorter urgent phase, or a different payment path.

Estimate the payment before another application
These are planning estimates only. Actual approvals, rates, fees, and terms depend on the lender, clinic, treatment plan, and applicant profile.
What to bring to the calculator
A useful estimate needs three numbers you can get before signing anything: the treatment total the clinic is quoting, roughly how much you can put down today, and a monthly amount you can carry without stress. If you have a target term in mind (24 months, 36 months, 60 months), bring that too — the same $8,000 balance can be a $349/month payment at 36 months or a $189/month payment at 60 months, at very different total repayment amounts.
What the calculator estimates
Use these examples to see how treatment cost, down payment, interest rate, and repayment term change the monthly payment and total repayment amount.
Typical APR ranges for dental financing products
Use these ranges to sanity-check what the calculator produces against what you might actually be offered. Actual rates depend on your credit profile, the amount financed, the clinic's arrangement with the lender, and state regulations — treat these as planning ranges, not offers.
- CareCredit promotional (6–24 months): 0% APR if the balance is paid in full before the promo ends. Miss the deadline and interest accrues from the original purchase date at 26.99% — the deferred-interest trap.
- CareCredit standard: 26.99% APR for balances outside a promotional period.
- Cherry: 0%–35.99% APR depending on credit profile and selected term. Marketing focuses on the low end; realistic mid-tier offers commonly land 9.99%–17.99%.
- Sunbit: buy-now-pay-later structure over 6–15 months. Not always quoted as APR; effective cost varies with the monthly service fee.
- Proceed Finance: designed for large cases ($15,000+), APRs commonly 12%–18%, terms up to 84 months.
- In-house payment plans: frequently 0% APR but usually require a larger down payment (30%–50%) and shorter terms (6–18 months).
Common gotchas the raw payment number won't show
- Deferred interest. The payment on a promotional plan assumes you clear the balance before the promo ends. If you don't, the saved interest is added back at the standard rate.
- Promotional minimums. “0% for 24 months” usually requires equal minimum payments large enough to clear the balance inside that window. Paying only the interest-bearing minimum is not enough.
- Origination and processing fees. Some lenders roll a 1%–8% fee into the balance. The calculator's monthly on the quoted amount may understate the monthly on the actual balance.
- Prepayment terms. Most dental financing has no prepayment penalty, but confirm this before assuming you can pay off early to save on interest.
Why estimates matter before a dental financing application
A financing approval is only useful if the payment is realistic. Estimating the payment first helps readers decide whether to ask about staged care, lower-cost alternatives, a different term, or an in-house plan before submitting an application.
What the calculator does not do
This tool does not approve financing, check credit, contact clinics, or guarantee that a lender will offer the rate shown. It is only a planning estimate for the payment conversation.
